INDY H5 Hinge Armature - Solid Limbed with Hinge & Standard Link Plate Assemblies

Standing 128mm tall to the shoulders this 6-8 year old Human Armature has solid, nickel plated, Steel Limbs, anodised aluminium Hip and Shoulder Blocks and a single jointed back and a standard shoulder design. The Hip Block has a single M3 rigging point and each steel Foot has an M3 tie down point plus the ability to use magnetic hold down. The knee, hip and lower arms have hinged, anodised aluminium, link plate assemblies allowing for more realistic skeletal movement. The ankles, back, shoulders and neck have standard link plates assemblies that can be either anodised aluminium or stainless steel. All Link Assemblies are secured with an M3x8mm stainless steel screw. Component parts of the feet, hip and shoulder block assemblies are secured using Loctite 270 high strength thread lock. The Armature is supplied with a 75mm Rigging Stud Assembly, 2x50mm Standard Tie Down Assemblies, 2 x 12mm Tie Down Screws and an Allen Key to tension the Link Plate Assemblies.

Head and Shoulder Assembly

The head and shoulder assembly on the INDY Hinge H5 model comprise an anodised aluminium standard shoulder block with 3 link plate assemblies secured with an M3 stainless steel screw.

The limbs and stud ends are machined, nickel plated, steel with a 6mm diameter ball.

Standard link plate assemblies are available as anodised aluminium or stainless steel.

During assembly the complex shoulder block stud ends are secured using Loctite 270 high strength thread lock.

Standard Back Assembly

The back comprises one standard link plate assembly with a 3mm diameter solid steel, stud end backbone screwed into the Hip and Shoulder Blocks. The stud ends are machined, nickel plated, steel with a 6mm diameter ball.

The link plate assembly can be either anodised aluminium or stainless steel secured with an M3x8mm stainless steel screw.

During assembly the stud ends are secured using Loctite 270 high strength thread lock.

Hip Assembly

The hip/upper leg assembly comprises 2 anodised aluminium hinge link plate assemblies, secured with an M3x8mm stainless steel screw, and an anodised aluminium hip block.

The hip block has an M3 threaded hole that can be used with our various Rigging Solutions.

During assembly the hip block stud ends are secured using Loctite 270 high strength thread lock.

Hinge Link Plate Assemblies

The knee, hips, upper and lower arm hinge link plate assemblies comprises an anodised aluminium link plate assembly secured using an M3x8mm stainless steel screw. The hinge assembly locks the lower ball socket allowing for more realistic skeletal movement.

The elbow assembly has a machined steel, 3mm diameter, stud forearm and the design requires the manufacture of a hand assembly secured using K&S square bar and strong adhesive.

The foot, backbone, upper shoulders and neck link plate assemblies comprise one anodised aluminium or stainless steel link plate assembly secured using an M3x8mm stainless steel screw.

The limbs are machined, nickel plated, steel with a 6mm diameter ball.

Foot Assembly

A nickel plated steel foot, steel limbs with 6mm diameter balls and anodised aluminium or stainless steel link plate assemblies secured with an M3x8mm stainless steel screw.

M3x12mm stainless steel screws, Standard Tie Down Assemblies or strong magnets can be used to tie down the armature.

During assembly the foot stud ends are secured to the steel foot using Loctite 270 high strength thread lock.

The INDY Hinge Range: The INDY Hinge Range of Armatures have a combination of Standard & Hinged Link Plate Assemblies. The joints on the Lower Knees, Hips and Arms are HINGED to provide a more realistic skeletal movement. The armature is assembled using machined nickel plated solid steel limbs and stud ends with 6mm ball joints combined with anodised aluminium shoulder and hip blocks eliminating the need for thread locked link/ball assemblies.
The INDY 6 Range: The INDY 6 Range of Armatures uses Standard Link Plate Assemblies and is assembled using machined nickel plated solid steel limbs and stud ends with 6mm ball joints combined with anodised aluminium shoulder and hip blocks eliminating the need for thread locked link/ball assemblies.
The INDY 9 Range: The INDY 9 Range of Armatures have a combination of Standard & Hinged Link Plate Assemblies. The joints on the Lower Knees, Hips and Arms are HINGED to provide a more realistic skeletal movement. The backbone comprises a 9mm brass & steel joint and 4mm diameter upper and lower back components for extra strength. The rest of the armature is assembled using 3mm machined nickel plated solid steel limbs and stud ends with 6mm ball joints combined with brass shoulder and hip blocks eliminating the need for thread locked link/ball assemblies.
The PROFESSIONAL Range: The Professional Range of Armatures use Standard Link Plate Assemblies and is assembled using precision machined 6mm nickel plated steel balls in the link assembly with M3 stainless steel limbs that are secured during assembly using Loctite 270 high strength thread lock.
The BESPOKE Range: The Bespoke Range of Armatures uses a combination of INDY or Professional components depending on the armature being built.
